These thumbnail dart frogs come from the lowlands of Peru and are much more rare in the hobby than their 'nominal' brethren and have striking maroon coloration to their legs. They aren't as prolific as some other thumbnails however, being facultative egg feeders, they can be left in with their parents who will rear the tadpoles or you can pull the eggs are rear them yourself. While these little guys are a bit shy, they can usually be seen on the leaves of their bromeliads near the axils throughout the day. Our froglets are currently feeding on vitamin dusted melanogaster fruit flies. A fairly large enclosure is recommended (18x18x24) to prevent escapes though a smaller enclosure such as 12x12x18 could suffice.
These frogs can only ship on mondays.
