These are captive bred froglets that have been reared by their parents and are about 4 months out of the water. We have had these guys dropping eggs in as little as 6-8 month out of the water! These thumbnail frogs hail from the lowlands of Peru. In spite of their diminutive size, a larger enclosure (18x18x24) is recommended to make them feel safer and less likely to jump out and escape. Experienced keepers can often get by with a smaller enclosure (12x12x18), however. These bold little frogs are frequently visible throughout the day using every inch of their enclosure and are feeding on vitamin dusted melanogaster fruit flies.
